Which badges require identity verification?

For law enforcement and other official (and official-looking) badges, we require ID verification prior to production.

What is ID verification?

ID verification is the process we use to confirm your affiliation with the agency named on the badge. In most cases, this simply means sending a photo of your employee ID, department credential, or other proof of authorization.

This policy helps us maintain trust with the public, protect the integrity of official agencies, and ensure our products aren’t used inappropriately or misunderstood in sensitive environments.

Which badges require verification?

The following categories typically require ID verification:

  • Any badge referencing law enforcement (e.g., Police, Officer, Sheriff, Trooper, Corrections)
  • Badges referencing hospitals, schools, or public infrastructure
  • Badges that appear to represent an official role or public authority

We do not fulfill orders for:

  • Federal agency badges (e.g., FBI, DEA, USPS, Homeland Security)
  • Los Angeles County agencies, including the Sheriff's Office, Probation, and the County Fire Department
  • New York City Police Department (NYPD)
  • Unauthorized collector requests. We do not sell badges to the general public for hobby collecting. However, we do support verified customers who are ordering for personal display, retirement, or recognition purposes related to their own career or agency.

We reserve the right to request ID verification on any order that appears to be official.

How the verification process works

  1. Place your order on our website.
  2. If verification is required, we will email you with instructions and a secure upload link.
  3. You’ll submit identification documents (e.g., government ID, agency credentials).
  4. The name on your ID must match the name on the order’s shipping information. We do not fulfill orders on behalf of third parties.
  5. If verification cannot be provided, please let us know so we can issue a full refund.

Why this policy exists

Badges carry symbolic authority. They can represent trust, professionalism, and public service — even outside of official use. We have this policy in place to help ensure that badges we create aren’t misused or mistaken for official credentials in ways that could cause confusion or concern.

We’re proud to support the people and agencies who wear badges with honor, and we’re committed to making sure our products are used responsibly.
