Badge & Wallet offers more than 1,600 different leather badge cutout shapes, including cutouts for every Smith & Warren badge and thousands of badge models from other manufacturers.
If your badge isn't in our database and none of our existing cutouts will fit, we can still make a recessed leather badge wallet or holder for you.
We offer two options: a hand-cut leather case or a new cutting tool created specifically for your badge.
Option 1: Hand-Cut Leather Badge Wallet or Holder
A hand-cut case is usually the most economical option if you only need one or a few leather products for your badge.
You'll send us your physical badge, and we'll use hand-cutting tools to create a recessed opening in the leather that accommodates its shape.
The hand-cutting fee is $50 per case, in addition to the price of the wallet or holder.
Because we aren't creating a permanent cutting tool, the fee applies to every case you order. If you order two cases, the hand-cutting charge is $100.
If you need another wallet or holder in the future, you'll need to send us your badge again and pay the hand-cutting fee for the new case.
Option 2: Create a New Leather Cutting Tool
If your department needs multiple wallets or holders for the same badge, creating a new cutting tool may be the better long-term investment.
You'll send us your physical badge, which we'll use to develop a new cutting tool matching its shape and dimensions.
The one-time cutting tool charge is $350, in addition to the cost of the leather products.
Once the tool is created, we assign it a unique leather cutout number and add it to our database.
You can then order as many compatible wallets or holders as you need, now or in the future, without paying another cutting tool charge or sending us your badge again.
Which option is more economical?
Hand-cutting costs $50 per case, while creating a new cutting tool costs $350 just once. Here's how the fees compare:
- 1 case: Hand-cut $50 | New tool $350
- 2 cases: Hand-cut $100 | New tool $350
- 4 cases: Hand-cut $200 | New tool $350
- 6 cases: Hand-cut $300 | New tool $350
- 7 cases: Hand-cut $350 | New tool $350
- 10 cases: Hand-cut $500 | New tool $350
These amounts are in addition to the cost of the leather wallets or holders.
For smaller quantities, hand-cutting is generally more economical. At seven cases, the fees are equal. For larger quantities, a new cutting tool saves money and allows you to order additional cases in the future without sending us your badge again.
Do I need to send you my badge?
Yes. Both hand-cutting and creating a new cutting tool require us to work from your physical badge.
If you choose hand-cutting, you'll need to send your badge each time you place an order.
If you choose a new cutting tool, you'll only need to send the badge once. After the tool has been created and assigned a cutout number, you can place future orders using that number.
Will I get my badge back?
Absolutely! We use your badge to create the appropriate leather cutout and return it to you unharmed once the work is complete. The process does not require altering or damaging your badge.
We recommend considering the unlikely possibility of your badge being lost in transit before sending it. If your badge is rare, historic, sentimental, or irreplaceable, please contact us before shipping it so we can discuss your options.
For ordinary, replaceable badges, we recommend using a trackable shipping service.
