Can an Unauthorized Individual Order a Badge?

Anyone can submit a badge order, but certain badges require identification before they can be manufactured.

Badge & Wallet screens every badge order and requires identification for badges that represent law enforcement agencies or other organizations where proof of affiliation is required under our policies.

Although the badges we sell are decorative and heraldic insignia rather than government-issued identification documents, we recognize that badges bearing official titles, agency names, and other identifying elements can convey an impression of authority.

To help reduce the risk of unauthorized purchases, we screen every badge order placed through BadgeAndWallet.com and require identification for orders that meet our verification criteria.

Who is authorized to purchase a badge?

Our customers include police officers, sheriff's deputies, firefighters, emergency medical services personnel, security professionals, and individuals purchasing badges on behalf of their organizations.

Not every badge requires identification verification. Whether identification is required depends on the badge's wording, design, apparent organizational affiliation, shipping destination, and Badge & Wallet's identification policies.

We reserve the right to request identification or additional documentation whenever we determine it is necessary.

Can anyone order a badge with the word "Police" or "Sheriff" on it?

No. Badge & Wallet requires identification verification for badges bearing restricted law enforcement titles or other design elements indicating an official agency affiliation.

If your order requires verification, we'll email you instructions for submitting your identification documents through our secure verification process.

You will generally need to provide both official agency identification and government-issued photo identification.

Do security badges require identification?

Security badges are evaluated based on their wording, design, and apparent organizational affiliation.

Badges that identify a particular company, government agency, transportation authority, or other organization may require identification verification.

We review each order individually rather than relying exclusively on specific words or titles.

Do Fire & EMS badges require identification?

Firefighter and emergency medical services badges generally do not require the same identification verification as law enforcement badges.

However, Badge & Wallet's policy requires identification for badges referencing a fire department or related fire service affiliation when the order is being shipped to Florida.

We may also require identification for other Fire & EMS badge orders based on the badge's wording, design, or apparent agency affiliation.

Every order is screened, and we'll contact you if identification is required.

What if someone tries to purchase a badge without authorization?

If your order requires identification verification, we will not release it for production until the required review is complete.

If you cannot provide the required identification, or prefer not to submit it, please contact us. We'll cancel your order and issue a full refund.

Badge & Wallet reserves the right to cancel and refund orders that do not satisfy our identification requirements or that raise concerns about unauthorized use.

Are novelty, commemorative, or collectible badges treated differently?

Not every badge requires identification verification.

However, labeling a badge as a novelty, collectible, or commemorative item does not automatically exempt it from our screening process.

We consider the badge's overall wording, design, and apparent agency affiliation when determining whether identification is required.

Why does Badge & Wallet Require Identification For certain badge purchases?

We take pride in serving law enforcement agencies, public safety professionals, and other organizations throughout the country. Our identification requirements are part of our commitment to responsible business practices and maintaining the trust of our customers.

When identification is required, we ask customers to confirm that their documents are genuine, that they have the necessary permission and authority to purchase the badges, and that they will comply with applicable laws regarding their possession and use.
